**We here at BSW understand that no 2 people have the same RP style. We respect and encourage that because individuality is what makes us better. Below is a small list of thing we here in BSW will be looking for when judging match RPs.
1. The Script: How well thought out is your Role Play. Believe it or not, people can tell if you just threw something together at the last minute. Take some time to get your thoughts together before writing. It makes a difference.
2. Descriptiveness: Use descriptive details to try and get your point across. It doesn't have to be an Elizabeth Janeway novel but adding a little flavor is always a bonus. it's always nice to read and become involved in the story. Like you are really there verse just having words on a page.
3. Character Development: Who they are inside and outside of the ring is always good too know. Makes the character more 3 dimensional and interesting to read about.
4. Talk About The Match: While developing your character is important, also remembering to toss in the reason why you are doing the RP in the first place, it is important. This is a wrestling federation first, your RP should treat it as such. There is no strict percentage of match talk to non match talk enforced here in B.S.W.
5. Originality: We're looking for you to step out side of the normal in-ring/ backstage promos and try something different. Nothing wrong with borrowing ideas from songs, movies and TV shows either. Anything that help take you away from the normal drab arena scene is a big help.
6. RP Length: It doesn't have to be a 500 page novel but at least meet the minimum set forth on the card and try your best. That is all the matters. Just remember that any RP that falls below the set minimum will result in an automatic loss, even if it's by 1 word.
7. Look And Feel: Make your RPs look like you care about what you just wrote. Doesn't have to be anything over the top, just enough to break up the normal monotony. This is not something that will make or break a Role Play but it helps the readers.
8. Readability And Flow: The story must have a good flow so Read it, Re-read it and Re-read it again. You're not going to catch all errors but try your best to make it readable. Also Spelling and Punctuating corrections, go a long way in making the words come together, so the story flows. Bad grammar and misspelling won't be counted against you, unless it's so bad that if hinders the reading it.
Use of cultural dialect is fine if it fits that particular character, however unreadable slang is a No No.
(Example: Character is Jamaican and you want to write in that Rastafarian dance hall style dialect. Most people can hardly understand it when they hear it so what makes you think they'll understand reading it. People will know your character is Jamaican by just the mere mention of it in your RP and/or contract.)
9. Most importantly, have fun. That is the main reason why we're all here. ;D
